Capacitors
Ceramic capacitors, doorknobs and diodes
Our high voltage ceramic capacitors (often abbreviated "HVC") are the ideal solution to replace those of the Murata brand. With over 800 references, we offer all kinds of capacitors with a nominal voltage ranging from 1kV, up to an ultra-high voltage of 150kV 800pf.
Our expanded scope allows us to provide you with a cross-reference list with prime alternatives for all brand capacitors / doorknobs Vishay-Murata-AVX-TDK.
Whether it's a well-known reference or a prototype for a custom capacitor, we can reliably meet your needs and use our engineering expertise throughout the design, development and production management.
Our main customers operate in the following areas: X-ray, CT scanner, MRI, CND, plasma generators, laser equipment, Marx generator, or any high-voltage system.

What is a “disc” type ceramic capacitor?
These capacitors conduct electricity using the ceramic they are made of asa dielectric . This ceramic takes the form of a disc with both sides silver plated. The connection cords are made of tinned copper.
Today's electronics mainly use these components because of their small size but also their maximum voltage rating which is extremely low . Since they are not polarized, they can be connected to an AC source safely.
It mainly comes intwo different classes :
Class 1: Class 1 capacitors have very high stability and low loss . The capacitance value of these devices is very accurate when applied to varying voltages, temperatures and frequencies. The NP0 capacitor series has an operating temperature range of -55 to +125 °C and a thermal stability of +0.54%. Nominal capacitance tolerances can be as low as 1%.
Class 2: A Class 2 capacitor has a high capacitance per volume , which allows it to be used in applications where voltage requirements are lower. The nominal value tolerance is approximately 20% and their thermal stability is typically 15% over the operating temperature range. These capacitors can be supplied with angled or straight leads with a pitch of 5 mm (0.20"), 7.5 mm (0.30") or 10 mm (0.40") and a lead length of 4 mm to 30 mm. The encapsulation is done in blue epoxy resin.
What is a doorknob ceramic capacitor?
These high voltage ceramic doorknob capacitors are industrial grade components. They are mainly used in X-ray generators, digital radiography, non-destructive testing, laser and plasma equipment, Tesla coils, Marx generators and many other applications. Well-known brands are the American company Vishay, AVX, HVCA and the Japanese manufacturer Murata and TDK.
Replacement cross reference: MURATA, VISHAY, TDK, AVX, HVCA.
Since 2018, Murata (DHS series, white color) and AVX (HP/HW/HD/HE series) have unfortunately stopped producing their capacitors. Vishay and TDK continue to produce but it is rare to be able to go below 18 weeks of production time or to benefit from customized production because they involve a high cost, especially in BRICS countries such as Brazil, Russia or India.
Our partner HVCAP , with more than 10 years of experience in replacing these references for GE, PHILIPS, NIKON, KONICA, MINOLTA, is an ally of choice for your various projects.
He masters the entire production chain, from the manufacture of the powder, to that of the ceramic disc, to the assembly of the weld and finally to the epoxy encapsulation. Do not hesitate to contact us for any request for personalized production, from 10kV to 150kV, capacity from 100pF to 15000pF but also for small quantities.
